It Takes a Village Print

"And I will come down and talk with you there. And I will take some of the Spirit that is on you and put it on them, and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, so that you may not bear it yourself alone."- Numbers 11:17

the verses before this one talk of how God tells Moses to gather elders from Israel to help him bear the burden of the people. Moses was at a breaking point, feeling as though he wasn't meeting expectations, wasn't being the leader he needed to be, that God gave him too many responsibilities.

And I don't know a woman that hasn't felt this way. That has felt as if they don't measure up, that they aren't enough.

God answers Moses' prayer. He provides a "village" to help share Moses' burden. God has answered my prayers by giving me a village. The saying of "it takes a village" is one that I didn't truly understand until the last few years. I thank God every day for friends that make up my village and have been apart of my village at some point in time throughout my life.

Your village doesn't have to be big. Your village doesn't have to look like you. Your village doesn't even have to all be friends with each other. Look for the people that God has put in your life that encourage you, make you better, stronger, and push you. Your village can change and shift over time. Cherish them.
